Happy New Year

Happy New Year to All from the Fernets!!Be sure to check the latest video below to the right too. Before playing it, mute the background music playing at the bottom of the the page so you can hear the kids. Have a great night!

Few Random Christmas Pics

Christmas in the Fernet household was amazing as usual. Santa was very, very nice to the kids and brought just about everything on their lists (and then some). We had a wonderful morning at the house opening gifts and having some yummy breakfast before heading to NY to visit family.
Then it was off to Nana Sicko's house to visit with family and have a delicious turkey dinner. Here are Hailey & Cayden relaxing before present time....Next stop...Gramma & Grampa's. The cousin fest was crazy with wrapping paper and presents flying no matter how much we tried to slow them down. They had a blast...

Holiday House

The kids enjoyed the 6 or so inches we had this morning. They've been having a nice lazy day in their pjs. Once I finished the calendars we decided to tackle a rice crispy gingerbread house. We had a lot of fun and really tried although it ended up being a race to see if mommy was going to get a quick picture before we had a complete cave in...hahaha. As you can see the kids didn't mind and were anxiously waiting for the go ahead to eat something....ANYTHING. Fun memories!!

Santa visits!

We had a nice afternoon visiting with the Martinelli's and the kids had a surprise visitor....Santa!! He got a ride from his firefighter friends on the fire truck again this year and stopped by with some Christmas wishes & toys for the kids...The kids all enjoyed their gifts and then we moved onto candy necklace making..
Yummy!
They made some ornaments too before it was time to call it a night. I have to say its one of the most relaxing afternoons we've had in awhile. So sorry the slick roads kept the LeVasseurs away...but we will catch up with them soon!!!

2nd Snow

Been a rough week for the Fernets. Started last Saturday with Kylie getting Strep #2 for the year. She's been taking the antibiotics for that all week...almost done. Then there was Noah coming down with mysterious bug bite/pimple looking things on his bum on Thursday. Ended up being a bacterial infection so he's on oral and cream antibiotics. Now we have Jason with a fever last night and today. Took him to the dr today and found out that he's got strep now too. So I've got 3 down and out on antibiotics over here....iyiyiyiyiyiy.

The bright spot was spending some time outside with the 2 munchkins with some awesome packing snow that fell yesterday/last night. This is the first time in a really long time that it was pretty easy to make a snowman. We each took a tier and rolled them all over the yard to make them "huge". I think we were outside for a couple hours, but the results were worth it. Checkout below:

Off to finish making dinner and enjoy a relaxing night (I hope). Also have tomorrow off which I'm looking forward to a nice quiet day at home by myself to do whatever I want!!!!

Thanksgiving & Black Friday

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. In tradition we woke up and Jason went to grab the newspapers so we could go through the black friday ads. Dawn and I were like 2 little kids on Christmas morning as we plowed through each ad multiple times making our lists. We watched the parade and then headed to Nana's for dinner number 1 with my family. The food was delicious as usual and then we celebrated the December birthdays while we were all together. Many thanks again to everyone for the gifts and cards. We left there and headed to the JoAnne's house for dinner #2 with Jason's family. Yummy goodies again...I think I gained 5 lbs overall, but we had the perfect plan for working that off.

Dawn and I woke up early and met my mom & my cousin's wife Laura Friday at 3am (Toys R Us). We continued to shop from store to store to store. Grabbed a lot of great deals and finished at least 75% of my shopping. We stopped around 7am for breakfast a Friendly's. Mom and Laura were done by about 11am, but Dawn and I weren't quite ready to quite. Hit another store or 2 then refueled with a quick lunch at Taco Bell. Went to pickup JoAnne and then continue on our shopping adventure. We finally finished (crashed from exhaustion) at 5pm....14 hours!!! A new record. It was so much fun getting to spend such a fun day with some of my favorite girls!! Can't wait for next year!!

Trip to NYC

Ok so I'm far behind again and getting yelled at...haha. Lets go back to November and our really fun trip to NYC. It was my mom, Hailey, Kylie, Dawn, myself, Jason & Noah. We took the train into the city and met Dawn at American Girl (the boys headed up to Museum of Natural History rather than spending hours in a "girly" store). We shopped for a long time and the girls had lots of fun. Kylie & Hailey also got to have their dolls ears pierced which they were excited about. Then it was onto our special lunch at the American Girl Cafe. Here is a picture...isn't it super cute???Kylie & Allison waiting to order their food. They had little chairs that attached to the table for the dolls and brought them their own little black/white saucers and tea cups.
Birthday girl Hailey with Megan...
How cute is this food?? Kylie ordered the "Bitty Bites" shown below. If you aren't familiar with American girl they call their baby dolls Bitty Babies and their toddler dolls the Bitty Twins...
Hailey was admiring the Fruit Kabobs in which the fruit was all cut into different shapes...
This was my yummy lunch that Dawn guilted me into...and I was happy she did. I planned to get the chicken fingers, but she called me boring and predictable so I had to venture out to the chicken pot pie and chicken/cheese rollup...soo good!!
This was the dessert plate we all got....again...sooooo cute. Flower pot was chocolate mousse with cookie crumbs, a snowflake cookie and white heart shaped cake. Delicious!!
Mommy & Kylie after the American Girl adventure. She loves to shop....at least when its for her...haha.
We met Daddy & Noah down at build a bear when Noah made a new dino - "Claws" They are here making a birth certificate for him.
Then it was onto Toys R Us which was absolutely mobbed. Noah got to see the big T Rex and got to meet Spiderman so he was a happy little man.
In the end we were all exhausted, but it was a perfect day. The weather was amazing for late November and everyone was in good spirits most of the day. Can't wait for the next trip down.

Catching up

Ok so lets catch up on the last few days. First let me say I'm glad so many people are following the blog...although that means more yelling at me when I fall behind..haha. Love you guys!

Alrighty...so Wednesday Kylie & her friend Maya worked on their jazz duo. They are most of the way through the choreography, but man is it fast for them. They are planning to compete for the first time this year...first competition is first weekend in February. They are both very excited about it, but its going to be a lot of work at the same time. Noah had his first Karate class and it was one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. He is the tiniest monkey in the class, but didn't let that stop him in the least. When they take attendance they have to yell back "Here Sir" and he was one of the loudest! He listened really well and had a great time. When I picked him up tonight he thought we were going there again and was a little bummed when I said no. haha.

What else...here are some recent pics. Each month Noah has a new color for his "I Spy" project. This month was orange and these were his finds:

On to the next funny story. So for the past few weeks we have been letting Kylie make her own breakfast (Toaster Strudel). So this morning she got up with Jay since he had to leave early. Once he left she started her breakfast. Then Noah got up and she thought she would help make his breakfast (mini pancakes heated in the microwave). All of a sudden I heard Noah running down the hall. Kylie was saying its ok buddy and he was saying no I have to get Mommy (not what you want to hear while 1/2 asleep). He comes in and says "Mommy, Kylie pushed the wrong numbers and there was smoke". Nothing gets you out of bed like that. I was downstairs in 10 seconds and it was stinky. No smoke, but she definitely burned them. She felt so bad "It's all my fault, I ruined it...I was just trying to help". After a big hug and some reassurance that I wasn't mad, but that Noah did the right thing by getting me we tried again together and all was good. She can be such a good girl when she wants to be. Here are a few pics of my big girl from this morning after the fiasco:

She's growing up so fast!!!

So tomorrow I'm off from work...YEAH!!! Have a parent/teacher for Noah in the AM then some time for Mommy. Kylie has hip hop tomorrow night and Noah has his Pizza Party/Soccer Award banquet. Saturday its off to the city for a girls day (cause I'm guessing Jason & Noah are bailing). Lunch at American Girl and some shopping. Can't wait!! Should have some more pics to share after that. Good night all!

Busy Week

Ok so behind as usual. When is someone going to add a few more hours to each day?? Weekend was nice - relatively quiet for a change. Friday, I won tickets to the Disney On Ice show coming to XL Center in January. Haven't told the kids yet, but I'm sure they will love it. Only downfall is that I may not be able to go :( It is Jan 6th at 7pm which is prime blackout time at work. Here's hoping we're ahead of schedule that week..haha. Otherwise it will be Daddy date night!

As for the busy week...it's coming. Kylie has dance, dance, dance. Noah's supposed to start Karate on Wednesday, but not sure he's a little down and out tonight with a cough and slight temp. Hoping it passes really quickly. Swim class on Thursday...Soccer banquet/pizza party on Friday. Then the big trip to the city on Saturday...YEAH!

That's about it for tonight. I have to be to work by 6:45am tomorrow...so I guess I should turn in. Stay tuned...more pics and stories to come as this week passes! Good night!

Halloween Night - Trick or Treating with the Colsons

Just got back a little while ago from our traditional Halloween festivities at the Colson's. We always have so much fun. Carey & Jacki go to town decorating the house, spooky music, fog machines, etc. We had a delicious dinner and then everyone suited up for some trick or treating. Here is a picture of all the kids...our 4 actual kids and the 2 big kids (I'm sure Jacki would agree with me on that one):

Some random pictures while roaming through the neighborhood...Noah "How many pictures are you going to take Mom??"
and Loren "I'm Ariel...not Loren"...she is the cutest!!

Overall the kids did great...Kylie was awesome this year. Both her and Caleb were usually the first ones to the door (except in the beginning when Noah was a running madman). Noah got very tired about 1/2way through and Jason had him on his shoulders to trick or treat the rest of the way...very different from last year. Loren was adorable and a real trooper. She filled up her flounder back by the end of the first street and said that she was all done. We tried a few other times to get her to go up to the doors, but she very contently said "No I'm all full" She walked almost the whole loop with us even though she didn't trick or treat 1/2 of it.

As you can see the kids were completely exhausted and didn't make it all the way home...hahaha. They are so cute when sleeping. Time goes by so fast...trying to enjoy every moment. Good Night everyone...Happy Halloween!!

Class Halloween Parties

Spent yesterday morning with my favorite Spiderman at school. The kids were patiently waiting on their mats listening to one of their teachers read a Halloween story.
The kids are lining up to go trick or treating at the bank and post office. Noah is the Spiderman to the left ...his friend Chayce was also spiderman. Lots of super heros in the room!!
His class after trick or treating:
Trick or treating inside school...
In the afternoon I got to go to Kylie's classroom to "party". This is her handing out lollipops to all her friends. My batter died so I didn't get a chance to get a class picture for her :( The kids had a lot of fun and I love being able to be there with them!!
Stay tuned for Halloween night!

Pumpkin Carving with Nana

Behind in the blogs as usual. Here are some great pics from the pumpkin carving last weekend with Nana. Here are the kids getting all the goop out....ewwww:
Nana is pulling out all the pumpkin seeds for baking. Noah was quite the helper in this dept while I was putting his design on the pumpkin.
Me and Noah working on his pumpkin...
And the final results are in...Noah's Pirate Skeleton:
Kylie's Trick or Treat...Daddy had more than his fill this year..hahaha.
Happy Halloween!!

Halloween Party

Just got back from the kids PTA Halloween party. They had a lot of fun. Kylie & her friend Kelly dressed up as best friend charms and were a big hit with everyone. Lots of compliments and the kids were smiling the whole time.
This is Noah, Kylie, Kelly and her sister Stephanie. Sooo cute!! Happy Early Halloween!!

Hey Boo Boo...Got some Picinic Baskets???

So while I'm dropping Kylie off for dance tonight I get a call from Jason. What does he want??? To let me know that we have a big black bear in our front yard!! He decided to help himself to the garbage outside. Apparently he stood up and with his claw knocked the cover right off..then dragged the bag across the front yard and helped himself. Jason was out on the porch taking pictures and video from a relatively safe distance. Then apparently when my mom went outside in her red coat she caught his attention and he started running a little at them.....at which point both got in the house as fast as possible. Animal control said they aren't supposed to do anything unless the bear starts attacking the house so we should just let him wander off...which he did. I wasn't a huge fan of this approach, but hopefully this is the last we will see of our friend Yogi!!

UNH Game

We had a great afternoon at the UNH game up at UMASS this afternoon. My cousin Scott had a great game, even though unfortunately the Wildcats had their first loss of the season. We got to see him score the only 2 UNH touchdown as well as a few other great plays. He's #89 below:
Noah was amazed by it all. Jason and him play football around the house a lot (I have 2 broken lamps to prove it), but I didn't think a 4 year old would be able to hold his attention that long. This was him clapping at one of the many good UNH plays:

And this is him screaming "Defense - Defense" or maybe it was U-N-H...don't remember. I swear he is going to be horse in the morning though. He was awesome....Jason is already planning for his first Giants game!
This was the kiddies relaxing on the way home. Kylie was out 1/2 way, but Noah managed to stay awake until we got home. Hopefully that means a late morning wakeup (not counting on it though).
With any luck we'll get to see more of Scott's games next year every Sunday! Congrats on a great game Scott....hope to see you soon! Good Night All!
