Noah's Surgery

Here is the brave little man before the surgery all geared up. Surgery lasted about 20 mins and everything went well. He was pretty cranky when he woke up and wanted the IV out as soon as possible. After some pain meds he was feeling better and slept for a bit before we left. He's still zoning out a lot, but is hungry which is a good sign. Popsicles & Jello on the menus so far :o) He'll be home again tomorrow, but assuming all goes as planned he'll be is normal self by Wednesday.

Just wanted to fill everyone in on a great cause that Kylie is looking to help her school raise funds for. The American Heart Association is holding their 30th annual Jump Rope for Heart campaign. At the end of February Kylie's school will have all the kids jumping rope to promote healthy hearts. If you would like to learn more or sponsor her please visit the link on the right hand side of the blog called "Jump Rope for Heart". She is also able to collect checks made out to the American Heart Association if you would like to make a donation that way. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you for your support!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!! We had a nice morning at home. Kylie made the beautiful card below for me with Daddy's help. Daddy broke his boycott rule for Valentine's Day for the first time in 17 years!! He says "the kids" insisted, but it was a nice surprise. They got me some chocolates & a new pandora bead. The kids each got a new Webkinz and immediately signed on different computers to adopt them and play. Mom had to leave this morning too. It was so nice having her here the last few days. Alrighty...that's it for tonight..enjoy the work of art below!!

Just an update on Noah...His tubes & Adenoid surgery for today was postponed until February 23rd. He started with a low grade fever last night and this morning had a slight runny nose & cough to go with it. When we got to the surgical center this morning they decided he wasn't well enough and wanted us to wait a couple weeks. So...keep your fingers crossed that he remains infection free until then. The fever has now subsided and it appears to just be a cold for now.
On Sunday we made a trip to the Connecticut Children's Museum. The kids had a lot of fun with the different animals they saw and various exhibits they have. Noah's favorite was probably Turtle Town or Dinosaur Excavation. Kylie enjoyed almost everything as you can see from the picture below. Unfortunately my camera battery died at the beginning of our trip so I'm waiting for Dawn to send me the pics she took and will post those later. Here are a few that I had:

Our visit inside the State Animal...
Noah loving all the creepy, crawly guys...snakes, lizards, frogs, etc.

Kylie not so sure about the large slithery friend next to her...

Here are some pictures from the adventures I mentioned on Saturday:

Bowling ....
Build-A-Bear (or in this case Turtle)...This is Noah naming his turtle Jesse

This is Noah hugging Jesse to make sure he was stuffed enough :o)
This is Noah giving Jesse a "bath"...

Overall it was a fun filled day!!

We had a busy day today with Aunt Dawn & Uncle Dave. Noah & Aunt Dawn started with a trip to Build-A-Bear where he made his turtle named Jesse. We did a little bowling where Uncle Dave took top honors with a 155. Kylie had her friend Mackenzie's party after that and we finished the night at Outback for a yummy dinner. The kids were quick to fall asleep...Good Night!!
