Halloween Night - Trick or Treating with the Colsons

Just got back a little while ago from our traditional Halloween festivities at the Colson's. We always have so much fun. Carey & Jacki go to town decorating the house, spooky music, fog machines, etc. We had a delicious dinner and then everyone suited up for some trick or treating. Here is a picture of all the kids...our 4 actual kids and the 2 big kids (I'm sure Jacki would agree with me on that one):

Some random pictures while roaming through the neighborhood...Noah "How many pictures are you going to take Mom??"
and Loren "I'm Ariel...not Loren"...she is the cutest!!

Overall the kids did great...Kylie was awesome this year. Both her and Caleb were usually the first ones to the door (except in the beginning when Noah was a running madman). Noah got very tired about 1/2way through and Jason had him on his shoulders to trick or treat the rest of the way...very different from last year. Loren was adorable and a real trooper. She filled up her flounder back by the end of the first street and said that she was all done. We tried a few other times to get her to go up to the doors, but she very contently said "No I'm all full" She walked almost the whole loop with us even though she didn't trick or treat 1/2 of it.

As you can see the kids were completely exhausted and didn't make it all the way home...hahaha. They are so cute when sleeping. Time goes by so fast...trying to enjoy every moment. Good Night everyone...Happy Halloween!!

Class Halloween Parties

Spent yesterday morning with my favorite Spiderman at school. The kids were patiently waiting on their mats listening to one of their teachers read a Halloween story.
The kids are lining up to go trick or treating at the bank and post office. Noah is the Spiderman to the left ...his friend Chayce was also spiderman. Lots of super heros in the room!!
His class after trick or treating:
Trick or treating inside school...
In the afternoon I got to go to Kylie's classroom to "party". This is her handing out lollipops to all her friends. My batter died so I didn't get a chance to get a class picture for her :( The kids had a lot of fun and I love being able to be there with them!!
Stay tuned for Halloween night!

Pumpkin Carving with Nana

Behind in the blogs as usual. Here are some great pics from the pumpkin carving last weekend with Nana. Here are the kids getting all the goop out....ewwww:
Nana is pulling out all the pumpkin seeds for baking. Noah was quite the helper in this dept while I was putting his design on the pumpkin.
Me and Noah working on his pumpkin...
And the final results are in...Noah's Pirate Skeleton:
Kylie's Trick or Treat...Daddy had more than his fill this year..hahaha.
Happy Halloween!!

Halloween Party

Just got back from the kids PTA Halloween party. They had a lot of fun. Kylie & her friend Kelly dressed up as best friend charms and were a big hit with everyone. Lots of compliments and the kids were smiling the whole time.
This is Noah, Kylie, Kelly and her sister Stephanie. Sooo cute!! Happy Early Halloween!!

Hey Boo Boo...Got some Picinic Baskets???

So while I'm dropping Kylie off for dance tonight I get a call from Jason. What does he want??? To let me know that we have a big black bear in our front yard!! He decided to help himself to the garbage outside. Apparently he stood up and with his claw knocked the cover right off..then dragged the bag across the front yard and helped himself. Jason was out on the porch taking pictures and video from a relatively safe distance. Then apparently when my mom went outside in her red coat she caught his attention and he started running a little at them.....at which point both got in the house as fast as possible. Animal control said they aren't supposed to do anything unless the bear starts attacking the house so we should just let him wander off...which he did. I wasn't a huge fan of this approach, but hopefully this is the last we will see of our friend Yogi!!

UNH Game

We had a great afternoon at the UNH game up at UMASS this afternoon. My cousin Scott had a great game, even though unfortunately the Wildcats had their first loss of the season. We got to see him score the only 2 UNH touchdown as well as a few other great plays. He's #89 below:
Noah was amazed by it all. Jason and him play football around the house a lot (I have 2 broken lamps to prove it), but I didn't think a 4 year old would be able to hold his attention that long. This was him clapping at one of the many good UNH plays:

And this is him screaming "Defense - Defense" or maybe it was U-N-H...don't remember. I swear he is going to be horse in the morning though. He was awesome....Jason is already planning for his first Giants game!
This was the kiddies relaxing on the way home. Kylie was out 1/2 way, but Noah managed to stay awake until we got home. Hopefully that means a late morning wakeup (not counting on it though).
With any luck we'll get to see more of Scott's games next year every Sunday! Congrats on a great game Scott....hope to see you soon! Good Night All!

Update on SNOW

Ok so we are up to about an inch now and as you can see it is sticking to everything. It is a very wet snow and since all the trees still have their leaves they are starting to droop - not good. Someone came into swim class and said that they are calling for up to 3 inches...really hoping they are wrong. Oh well. Have to run to pickup the little ballerina and then can finally get all buttoned up for the night. Stay warm!!

October or December???

Okay...this picture was taken at 3:15pm today (10/15)....it's only OCTOBER!! It's still coming down pretty good and I'm off to get the kids for dance and swim. More later...

Field Trip to Roberts Orchard

Noah had his first field trip and ride on the school bus today. I was able to take the day off to tag along. First up....hayride (another first). The kids all piled on (that's Noah below jumping on) and we had a nice (cold) ride around the orchard. The kids each got to have an apple that was picked from the orchard which they said were really yummy, but each only ate a couple bites of..haha...typically 4yr olds.

Inside the "pumpkin house" there was a story about finding a big pumpkin that was turned into pumpkin pies. The kids liked walking to each station as the story progressed. Noah's favorite part was the witch..haha. This was the kids in Noah's group (unfortunately he is hiding behind Danny in the yellow jacket....and yes...his friend Corbin that is standing to the right has the same jacket has him :o)
Next they moved to the "pumpkin patch" where the kids each got to pick a pumpkin. As you can see Noah was very proud of his!
Back on the school bus to ride back to school. Lots of fun with my favorite little man. We don't get enough Mommy & Noah time!!!

Ride on the Fire Truck

It was a busy morning. The kids were sooooo excited about their special escort to school today. Soon as they saw the firetruck go by the rushed to get their shoes on. Noah grabbed his fireman hat and Rex all dressed in his fireman suit and it was out the door with Daddy...quick quick!!Kylie climbed into the cabin first and got all buckled in with the fireman's help...while Noah patiently waited for his turn.
All strapped in and ready to go! Capt Rodney talked to us about all different things that the firefighters have to know and do on the way. We went to drop Kylie off at Fisher first and were way to early, so we circled around the block and came back....but it was still too early so we circled around the block a different way and arrived for the final time with 3 mins to spare. I brought Kylie inside while Noah waited in the truck. After I came back out and we were all buckled...ready to go...Principal Worhunsky came running out and asked if they could take a picture with Kylie and the truck. So it was back inside to get her and school took some pics of her with the fireman & the truck.
Off to Learning Center. By this time the humming of the truck almost had Noah asleep...haha. When we got there we waited while they brought his whole class outside to see him getting off the truck. He thought he was some pretty big cheese!!
The firefighters had all the kids come out to get a class picture with them too. Our town is so great about this stuff and the kids had a ball!!

Kylie's Update

Well...unfortunately she is still fevering...currently 103 :( . Seems to be getting a little further apart (almost 8hrs this time), but the cough is picking up now too. Really hoping she is able to kick this over the long weekend. For those who didn't know she came down with something Monday night and has been fevering ever since. We give her motrin and the fever goes away until she is due for the next dose and then it's right back up to 101-102. She was out of school Tues - Friday which meant I was working from home that whole time.

Today we went to Noah's game this morning and stayed in the car. He did a great job as usual. He says "I didn't get a goal, but it's ok Mommy"...hahah. They also had pictures today at soccer. Swim class has been going really well for him too. This week it was moved from a 3 bubble to a 2 bubble which gives him less assistance and he did pretty good.

We also took a quick trip to BJs where I found the Dolly and Me outfits are back!!! Love them. Missed out last year, but included a pic below of the pjs I was able to pick up today. Can't go wrong for $15!!! Kylie said Allison (AG doll) will be so excited...hahah. Alrighty...dinner time. Chat more later!

Another weekend...I think?

Soo tired of working! It's quarter close time again so it was a fun filled weekend of work in between regular weekend activities. Missed out on Noah's soccer on Saturday, but the excitement he had when he got home made up for it. He scored a goal and stole the ball from the other team a bunch of times. He came running in the house yelling to tell me about it and looking for a high 5. Sooo cute. Managed to sneak away for an hour to go to Gabriella's party which was really nice. They had a big tent to ward off the rain and lots of guests. The birthday girl was absolutely adorable and smiling up a storm! Then it was back to work :( Finished up in the afternoon and the kids talked Jay into Friendly's. Nice night out!

Today was more of the same in the morning. Kylie went over to her friend Kelly's house this afternoon for a bit while Noah & I played a little Toy Story Mania for Wii. It is such a fun game!!! Awesome reminder of our trip to Disney this past spring where they have a ride with the same name. We had rented it Friday and then decided to buy it today because we all like it so much. Noah is amazingly good at it for a 4yr that doesn't play video games normally. Then we ran out to Target to do a little shopping. Noah picked up his Halloween costume which he is so excited about. He's going to be Spiderman with the big "puffy" muscles....and to top it off the costume is reversible. So he can be the regular good guy red spiderman or turn it inside out to be the bad black spider man. Have some pics below for your enjoyment. Kylie thinks she's going to be Supergirl...but we haven't picked up the costume yet. Hope to get back to more picture taking soon. Hang in there :o) That's about if for tonight! Love to all! Go Giants!!
