June So far

So June has been incredibly busy too and I'm behind as usual.  The first weekend in June was great (although I'm not quite sure what Jason did with the pics from that yet...so this will just be a recap).  Friday night we went to Kylie's gymnastic recital with Nana, Gramma & Aunt Dawn.  She did a great job and her teacher said she will miss her a lot next year.  Saturday was a longgggg day.  We went first thing to Noah's karate tournament.  As usual he planned to compete in forms & sparring.  We watched our schools demo team take 1st place, then it was onto team fighting.  Normally this is all the older kids (intermediate/advanced/black belt), but Noah's teacher asked him to gear up too just in case.  The team one the first match and for the final match the other team put up a 5 yr old so Noah was in!  He did a great job and our team took 1st place!  He went on to take 3rd in forms in his division and 3rd in sparring.  Overall a great morning/afternoon...just long as we didn't leave until around 3pm.  It was then home to get some food, rest and get Kylie ready for recital.  Nana & Pip Sicko and Aunt Shirley arrived and we were all off to the show.  Kylie did an awesome job in all of her dances.  Especially proud of our girl getting out there for her first solo!

(This was the only pic I have right now from that weekend because a friend posted on FB)

Onto the following weekend -Friday was Noah's EOY program on all the kindergarteners had learned about the Rainforest.  They sung a bunch of songs in their explorer outfits (Noah is top row under the monkeys tail):

After the program was done then they played the graduation song just to get my waterworks going :(  My baby is all graduated:

We left around lunch to start our trek to Maine.  We got into Old Orchard Beach around 4pm and had so much fun that night - if only the weather had held out for the rest of the weekend.  We went for a walk on the beach down to the pier and back, the kids went swimming in the pool, we went to dinner and then ventured out on the jetty at the end of the road the restaurant was on.  After we got back to the motel we decided to walk to the pier again for ice cream and walked back at dusk on the beach.  Such a great night.  Here are some pics:

Yummy!

The next morning we were up relatively early to head to the tournament...unfortunately I thought flag sparring started at 8:30 so Noah missed the 8am, but he did good the rest of the morning...took 2nd in forms & 1st in sparring!!

We were done around noon and grabbed some lunch then back to the room due to the rain.  The kids hung out for a bit and then we decided to go bowling.  Little did we know it was candlestick bowling :)  The kids had a lot of fun though and did pretty well...Game 1 N-64, K-71 / Game 2 N-67, K-74.  Since it rained the entire rest of the weekend we hit the Kittery outlets Sunday morning and then headed for home.  Unfortunately, Jason had to go to NJ for a couple days so it was a lot of driving that night for him.  Monday morning was off to Kylie's EOY program where each 2nd grade class worked on a different country.  Kylie's class did Egypt which I had to bring in Egyptian food for....personally don't recommend it, but I'm a bit of a picky eater.

Fast forward to this past weekend.  Noah had his first sleepover.  His old friend from daycare that he grew up with had a camp out in the backyard for his birthday.  Apparently they stayed up really late, had lots of sugar & fun :).  Sunday was Father's Day and the last day of soccer for this session.  The kids had a great day.  At the end of Kylie's time they decided to have a parents vs the kids game.

After soccer it was time to cleanup and get to Father's Day dinner at Olive Garden.  Noah fell asleep in the car on the way (around 4:45) and refused to wake up.  We carried him into the restaurant, sat down, ate dinner, drove home and brought him upstairs before he finally gave in that he was hungry....hahaha.  He was awake for maybe 1/2 hr to eat and watch monopoly then straight to bed until we woke him up at 7am this morning.  All in all it was a great weekend.  Now it's back to work/summer camp for a couple days then off on the next adventure....Next stop...Maryland.

Hopefully the next update will come quicker than the last.  For those on FB hopefully this post transporter quicker than the last (6/20).  Stay tuned....

May Update

Alrighty, so its been a really, really long time since I've had a real post so be prepared...this is a big one.  Most of you know what has been going on with mom over the last few months and thankfully I'm happy to report that for now she is happy and recouping at home. :)

So let's go back to the beginning of May.  May 2nd Kylie and the rest of the 1st communion class participated in the May crowning service at church.  They got to practice processing in as they would for first communion and received their rosaries.  After the service the kids worked on their special song they were going to sing with Father Gerry at Communion and received their special crosses:

The first weekend Noah had his tournament just outside Worchester, MA.  I'm happy to report that he won his first sparring match!!  He took home 1st in Forms & 2nd in Sparring for the 6 & under boys.  Here are a few pics:

That Monday was a trip for work to Minnesota.  The plane rides were interesting between insane turbulence and almost missing the connection on the flight home I was very happy to finally arrive at 2am Thursday AM.  Thursday Kylie had dance and then 1st communion rehearsal.  The kids did a great job and were excited for Saturday.   Friday was gymnastics and her first dance rehearsal.  Saturday morning came quickly and pretty girl was ready for the big day.  Lots of friends and family there to witness and many others thinking of her from a distance made the day great!

This past weekend we were back in NY for Ryan's first communion.  Weather was really nice and the little man did a great job.  His class was huge (70+ kids), but the ceremony was still less than an hour.  After we got a few nice pics with the family outside.  Here is one with us and our godson :)

After the yummy lunch we went to visit my mom and the kids were super excited.  When I told then we were going to see Nana...Noah says "the real Nana??" hahaha.  It's been a few months since they've seen her, but they have been seeing Nana Sicko, so I'm pretty sure that is the distinction he was trying to make :o)  We headed home later that night and up for soccer the next day.  Both kids scored a goal in their games, but I have to admit I have NEVER seen Kylie play so well.  She was really aggressive and stuck with the ball at all times.  One time she got pushed to the ground and popped right back up to get the ball a minute later.  Such a great afternoon!

That brings us to tonight.  We had karate as usual and then headed over to school for the kids art show.  They each had 2 pieces displayed which they were really proud of.  Please enjoy the shots below:

Hope everyone enjoyed this whirlwind recap of the last few weeks.  Hopefully I will be able to stay on top of it a little bit better in the future.  Stay tuned for the latest...have a good night!!

This weekend

Another one gone by way too fast with so little accomplished from the long list of things to get done...Oh well.  Overall it was a good weekend none the less.  Noah had a tournament on Saturday where he took first place for forms and second for sparring.  Here are the many faces of Noah...which is your favorite?

In the meantime, Kylie was working on her special stepping stone at CCD.  This is something that all the first communion students do each year as part of their celebration.  Here are a few shots of her & the finished product:

They will be ready for them to pickup when they do plantings behind the church to get ready for first communion.  Beyond that Jason has been working non-stop on the bathroom remodel, I've been working on plans for the upcoming parties, shopping, trying to find the rest of the house a little.  All this while doing our best to keep the family in our prayers....few extra prayers lately for my mom, Grammi & Joey.  Everyone needs to get well and stay well please :o)  Love to all and good night!

Noah's Belt Test Tonight

Wow...over 2 months!!  That has to be a record for terrible blogging :o)  This will be a relatively short one, because it is rather late, but wanted to pass along Noah's good news.  He successfully passed his latest belt test tonight and became a Black Gup White Belt.  This is it...no more stripes after this.  Next step is full Orange belt in June :o)  Here are a few pics (I'll try to play catch up soon with other things that have happened over the last couple months so stay tuned:
